Hello from Kansas City. I started my "mother" today and I am super excited. I am celiac so I used Rise Flour - white. I am anxious to get it going and make my first product next week. When I made the starter this morning it was pretty thick - not very liquidy. I followed the directions exactly. Is this normal?

Hi Linda, I'm so excited you started your mother today! To answer your question about the thickness of your white rice mother, yes, it's normal for it to be quite thick at first. You should notice it start to loosen up around day three.
