Elisabeth_P	Posted - May 18 2019 : 3:45:57 PM So I normally let my mother sit in the proofer at 73 degrees F instead of on the counter. A few times here lately I have been making double batches of Bread. I put one bowl on the counter and one on the proofer. The one in the proofer was a double batch I made 2 French loaves with her. The mother on the counter was what I used to make my Skillet bread. Anyways I have noticed when my mother sits on the counter the bubbles are larger and different sizes, then the one in the proofer makes the little uniform bubbles. When I feed it for the 2-3 hour rise the bubbles look pretty much the same either way. Counter Mother after evening feeding. Counter mother before morning feeding. Proofer Mother after evening feeding. Proofer Mother before morning feeding Proofer Mother after 2-3 hour feeding I don’t have 2 glasslock bowls so I had to find the biggest one we had for my counter mother, and instead of a marinex dish I used a glass pie pan.

2loves4furbabes@gmail.com	Posted - Mar 05 2020 : 06:42:38 AM I hate to say it, but I decided not to invest in a proofer...not yet anyway. My husband, Shane, came up with an incredible idea. He purchased a reptile aquarium heater for a fraction of the cost of a proofer. I set the temp to 73 and, voila, it works ! I just place the mother on it, cover it and let it do it's thing. So, for all those frugal folks out there, I can strongly recommend this for proofing.
Ashley	Posted - May 20 2019 : 09:00:07 AM This is pretty cool. You can see that the mother in the proofer did a lot more overnight--it looks like there's more happening below the surface of the proofer mother one than the counter mother one before the morning feeding.
