Just wondering about a product I use to ferment cabbage in a mason jar. Since it lets out CO™ would it work for a "mother?" Should I try it? It'll only mean a jar could explode in my fridge!!!

The main reasons I like loaf pans for refrigerator mother storage is that the wide, open top makes it easy to feed your mother, scoop out mother for baking, and of course let air escape so your mother doesn't explode. If the mason jar lids you have let your mother breathe so you don't need to worry the exploding jar issue, it wouldn't hurt to try!
