Can the mother be on a self instead of the counter top? I have limited counter top space. Also does the flour towel need to be rung out before each feeding?
Thank you

Welcome Irene! A shelf will work just fine. Yours can be called a shelf mother:)

When I feed my mother, I peel the wet towel back, tucking it into the platter of water so that when I pull it back over it's been newly moistened. If you do that, make sure you have all the towel tucked into the platter because if a corner of it is still out on the counter, it'll wick water onto your counter, even in that short of time. I guess in your case, it would wick water onto your shelf.
